Vietnamese people love sushi. It’s from Japan which is a plus to most people, especially the young. It is perceived as upscale and healthy. It’s close enough to the Vietnamese rice-based diet that everyone can enjoy it. And above all it tastes genuinely great.

In general, yes.

Vietnamese people has been more open to the world's food culture, especially Japanese and Korean cuisine in that of Asian countries. Nowadays more dishes Japan are introduced to Vietnam due to the influence of culture such as manga and anime.

Almost every part of the world do not consume raw food, yet the Japanese eat them so casually. Sushi is considered raw food, so there may be people who are intolarate to that. That still, however, doesn't stop the majority of people from liking it.

Personally, I prefer sushi rather than cooked fish for higher risk of choking when eating the latter :D
