What happens to homeless people in Vietnam? I hear begging is not allowed and wonder how they are looked after. Are they given basic housing and food?

Vietnam is still not rich country but it implements many socialist policies for poor people, elders, non-parent child, homeless,…etc??????? Where is the welfare system?

No free education, no free health care, no care for elderly or disabled people(except for some voluntary people helping them) - unless they are relatives to/or PARTY members.

Vietnam is NOT SOCIALISTIC, it is a Capitalistic one party dictatorship.

Poor Vietnamese have miserable life. The money the government gives them does not cover their basic need of food and shelter.

Vietnamese government is very good in fooling foreigners that the poor Vietnamese are well cared for by the gov.

True Vietnamese cannot speak out the truth, for the fear that the gov tracks them down. Only Vietnamese who support the gov can be brave enough to have their voices on the Internet, just to support the gov, rather than helping their own people.

For example, beggars are illegal. The police will arrest them, giving them a hard time, so that they fear for the rest of their lives.

If you have time, please, keep track of those who say good to the Vietnamese government, and you will see the truth of whom they are.

At least I know they are not allowed in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi. Police control there. I don't know where they go. I think they are not given housing and food. Perhaps they must live in the rural countries but not in big cities.

No, begging is not prohibited in Vietnam.

Can you show me the source of where you hear about it?

But because they are fewer than the past so you will rarely to see them due to the economy and life has been improved.

You can go to Tham Luong bridge in Ho Chi Minh city to see them.

They has been organized in “Trung tâm bảo trợ xã hội”

means Social Service Centre. Yes, they have place to live and food to eat.

They even have website here:

Trung tâm Bảo trợ xã hội tỉnh Khánh Hòa

However, some homeless people don’t want to be in there, they wanted to go for begging because that gave them more income than stayed at there.

Nhiều người lang thang bị “chăn dắt” không muốn về trung tâm bảo trợ
