Dog meat in Hanoi

I want to avoid dog meat in Hanoi because I'm a huge dog lover and it makes me sick to my stomach knowing they are killed for food. how should I avoid it ?

Just don't order it. Actually won't find too many places that serve it.... you need to go out of your way to find it.

Dog meat is a delicacy mainly served in special restaurants, and more expensive than other meats, so it's unlikely you will encounter it. In any case, avoid the "Thit Cho". "Thit" is a qualifier word meaning "meat" so they're all "Thit something", eg Beef is "Thit Bo", Chicken "Thit Ga, etc.

Dog meat is "thit cho". Its very easy to avoid. There are specific dog meat restaurants, so just don't go to them. Otherwise, I have only been to very few restaurants that have it on their menu's, and those were all in rural areas.
