Vietnam visa on arrival for arriving by cruise ship or train

Question

The Vietnam visa application requests the arrival airport, however we will be on a cruise whip with stops in several ports in Vietnam. My question is, on the application form, when it asks for the arrival airport, will we enter our first port of entry? Do all ports need to be entered?

Be kindly explained that visa on arrival is only applicable if you intend to arrive in Vietnam by air. So please allow me to suggest you apply for a visa at the nearest Vietnam Embassy or Consulate. This is the most convenient way if you take a cruise/train into Vietnam.
