Do you speak Vietnamese? Can you share a sample of your Vietnamese handwriting?

As a Chinese, I cannot speak Vietnamese; I just know it a little.

This answer is not a good answer since I write Vietnamese with brushpens, a kind of traditional pen in eastern Asia. Besides, my handwriting is pretty ugly. What is worse, most of them are with Chinese characters or with Chữ nôm.

I like my handwriting this way, it’s clear and easy to read.

But when I was in Vietnam no one thought it was good. A teacher told me my handwriting was like “watermelons on the page”. An example of what is considered as beautiful handwriting in VN -

I can write like this, but it’s very tiring. You need the right kind of pen and you slave over every word to manufacture it just right.

Yes for the first question.

And here’s to the second one. It’s a letter excerpt from a renowned Vietnamese poet and playwright Luu Quang Vu, sent to his wife.
