As far as seeing the country, the most interesting part of the bus trip to Dalat from Saigon is the last 4 hours, as the bus starts to ascend into the mountains until reaching its destination. The first 3 or 4 hours after leaving HCMC is rather dull in my view, as you don't see much of interest other than an occasional Buddhist temple.
