people in Nha Trang City are friendly, their hospitality and kindness. Crime rate in the city of Nha Trang is very low, reasonable prices and food easily accepted.

From August 15 2023, Russian tourists will be able to stay in Vietnamese resorts for up to 45 days without obtaining a visa. The innovation increases the existing visa-free travel by 3 times.

Also, the period of stay in Vietnam with e-visa has been increased from 30 to 90 days. There is a possibility of registration of multiple entries.

Foreigners can enter the country with e-visas via 13 airports. Among them is Cam Ranh, via which Russians usually fly to the resorts of Nha Trang, as well as Phu Quoc, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. 16 land and 13 sea border points are also opened for tourists.

According to Vietnamese media, the country hopes that the new visa policy will give a big boost to inbound tourism. In the past high winter season, the resort infrastructure of popular destinations - in Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Phu Quoc - could not recover, despite the lifting of coronavirus restrictions.

In the absence of direct air links with Russia, tourists need to spend about a day on flights to Vietnam through the third countries. After the launch of the flight program from Irkutsk to Hanoi in June, IrAero also announced the preparation of flights to Cam Ranh Airport from Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok.

Some reasons:

China basically has very few of nice beaches, mostly in Guangxi or Hainan islands. They are both expensive and crowded, and similar climate to Northern of Vietnam to be cold, or even colder in winter and spring, not suitable for activities by the beach.
Nha Trang is considered as new destination to Chinese tourists because there newly created direct route from some China airports to Nha Trang airport. While Nha Trang is not any new to others, it provides Chinese tourists a new choice for warm, white sand beaches with clear water nearly throughout the year at the close distance of 2–3.5 hours of flight time.
China population is so huge, so the flow of Chinese tourists is huge too, especially to tourism destinations which are near China. Last Lunar New Year holiday, I enjoy seeing many Chinese young guys and girls visit an amusement park in Hanoi, when we thought they would come homeland for the holiday. It’s quite easy for them to travel to Northern of Vietnam by land transport. So there’re many tourists travelling to Hanoi, Halong bay … too

They are welcomed. There are some complains but to me, the root cause is from the quality of travel agents. Many Chinese tourists were cheated by their Chinese travel agents to pay a very cheap cost for the tour, then they was lead to pay much more for items in stores at destination, also managed by those Chinese travel agents. That happened only to Chinese tourists but not travellers from other countries because Chinese tourists can’t speak English and wholly depend on translators which controlled by Chinese travel agents too.

I’m a Chinese and I traveled to Nha Trang/芽庄 last year with my family. The sea is really beautiful, although I accidently got painful sunburn.

There’s a couple of reasons Chinese trouists have increased rapidly in recent years:

As getting rich, more and more middle-class Chinese choose to travel abroad on holidays
Low expense and short-time air travel make the surrounding countries, such as Japan, Korea and Vietnam, more attractive to Chinese tourists.
Nha Trang has got popular in China thanks to advertisement.

P.S. Vietnam custom ask every Chinese tourists for 10 RMB Yuan. It seems they don’t charge the white. Really really annoying.

Nha Trang has a nice beach that is reasonably well-maintained by the local authorities. There aren’t many places in China with nice beaches, and warm weather too.

Given that China is relatively close to Vietnam, and the cost here in Vietnam, it is a great choice for Chinese travellers to come by for holidays.

Because it’s in South East Asia, is easy to fly to from China, is relatively cheap compared to China, has stunning beaches, and clean air. Why wouldn’t Chinese go there? If you went recently, it’s Chinese New Year and so it’s time to travel.

Anyways, sometimes the sudden influx is caused by an airline working out a deal to a particular destination, or travel groups buying tickets and accommodations en masse and selling them for cheap on the mainland.

Cam Ranh bay is a warm water, deep water port, allow docking for multi navy ships. From 1978 to 2002 this port was leased to USSR and later Russia Navy to use as their naval base. Back in the date, around Cam Ranh base there’s only small fishing villages, the nearest city to Cam Ranh is Nha Trang, which is also famous for its beautiful long beaches. Thus Nha Trang got popular among the Russian soldiers, personels and their families, who moved to live in Nha Trang and create a community there.

After 2002, Cam Ranh was returned to Vietnam but the Russian community living in Nha Trang had grown quite a lot and they feel like living in warm weather and beautiful beaches instead of cold winter back in their hometown. With the Russian community as local, it’s easy to understand to have a lot of Russian visitors come to Nha Trang, either visit their relatives or travel as Nha Trang has been famous to Russian back home from the mouth of the Russian.
