Pack light and get all the funky t Shirts. Gosh HCMC at its coolest is still hotter than Glaswegia's Hottest...from a colonial (OZ). Have a great time , beer is cheep and the food is great.

I would pack some quality t shirts and shorts, some of the stuff here is a bit average. I wear it around the house , but on nights out and on excursions I like to wear my clothes from oz
Shorts with secure pockets for phones and wallets are the go and so are shorts that are level with or below the knee if you need to enter govt buildings or temples. Only rice paddy farmers wear short shorts.
Leave the polyesters and synthetics in the wardrobe, they are like being wrapped in Glad Wrap when the humidity hits 90%
Short woollen or wool blend socks are best if you need to wear shoes.
You can get horribly sun burnt here, you will need a hat.

When buyinh local shirts and tshirts make sure of two things.
1. It's 100% cotton
2. It fits looser than you would normally buy because after the first wash it will have dropped a couple of sizes.
And in the heat and humidity you really want to be in loose fitting cotton clothing.
